Madrid, Spain Trip

Madrid is an extremely alive city.  People are out and about all day long and the night life never seems to end.  Most restaurants do not even open until 9pm and stay open to midnight or later.  We never ate dinner before 10pm.  Everywhere we went or walked to we saw very well dressed folks and there was always something to see.   Madrid has so many things to do and we had a really good time when we got to spend time away from the office.  They have an excellent transportation system and a great system for tourists.  The have double-decker tour buses that you can pay for a day and go around 3 tour routes.  You can get off an on as you like as you come to the stops that you want to spend more time on.  Many of the pictures came from the top of these buses.  We did all 3 of the tours which included the Historical, Modern and Monumental.  The modern tour took you around the city highlighting the newer sections of town like the tall modern sky scrapers, embassy's etc.  The monumental tour is what it sounds like and the same for Historical.  Both took you to the older and cultural items with in the city such as fountains, statues, museums, art, etc.  We enjoyed the historical tour the most I think.  We spent a lot of time walking around the city and walked more miles in dress shoes than we care to remember trying to dress like the rest of the people.  We toured the Museo de Prado which is the most famous art museum in Madrid.  It has over 10000 pieces and featuring paintings by Goya which is one of the great masters of Spain.

We have some interesting pictures to see and more will be written but here are some pics to get out to view along with comments.
