Sam May 08:

Sam has been having a rough time lately.  He was not feeling well and vomiting so we took him to the vet.  It turns out, he swallowed a pony tail holder and it got trapped in his intestine.  The vet performed emergency surgery to remove the pony tail holder which required 4 inches of intestine to come out.

After his surgery, he was recovering in the evening and was not being monitored.  Through the night, Sam got tangled up in the IV and he laid there through the night with his circulation cut off.

He has lost the use of his front left leg as a result of this incident.  We are treating him at a new Vet and a vet neurologist.  He has a special brace to help him walk.  If he doesn't have it on, his whole paw rolls under like when your foot falls asleep.  The problem is that his foot may never "wake up"...which is the scary part.  It could be months before we know if he will fully recover.  Say a little prayer for him...

Here are some pictures of him with his little brace.
